Lapis Lazuli has been prized since the dawn of civilisation; beloved for its beauty and revered as a connection to the divine. The deep indigo colour stimulates intellectual ability, reveals hidden truths and facilitates honest and compassionate communication. its appearance reminds us of the sky at twilight illuminated by a myriad of stars. When translated from its original Persian roots, the name Lapis Lazuli means ‘stone of the heavens’.
Temple of the Sun uses only recycled sterling silver 925 as the base metal for their vermeil gold and silver jewelry. Vermeil jewelry is made by laying a layer of 18K gold over a sterling silver base, making it high quality and durable, with a thickness of at least 2.5 microns. This thickness makes it more resistant to tarnishing and fading than plated gold jewelry (which has a minimum thickness of 0.5 microns).
Jewellery care:
Remove gemstone jewellery before engaging in activities that may cause damage. Gemstone jewellery can be gently scrubbed with a soft-bristled or baby-sized toothbrush coated in warm, soapy water to dislodge any dirt.
To ensure the gold lustre remains golden and bright it is important to remove your necklace each time we apply makeup, cosmetics, shower and swim. Gold vermeil, like all non-solid gold, is designed to fade over time.
